Dr. Gabriella Vukovich is an honorary professor and 'Doctor honoris causa ' of the University of Miskolc and has been the President of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office since 2010. After obtaining her degree in law, she worked as a demographer at the Research Institute of Demography of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office, later at the UN in Geneva and New York. At the Hungarian Central Statistical Office she became Head of Department responsible for population census, then, between 1998 and 2004 deputy-president for social statistics. In 2012 she was elected chair of the UN Statistical Commission. At present she is Vice Chair of the UN Statistical Commission as well as member of the UN Secretary General 's Independent Expert Advisory Group on the Data Revolution for Sustainable Development. She is also co-chair of the UN Statistical Commission 's High-Level Group for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity-Building for post‑2015 monitoring.
