Emily Chirwa has 15 years of experience as an Economist in conducting public policy formulation and analysis in all areas of the Malawi economy. She has a strong background in planning, resource mobilisation, research methods, and policy analysis.
Emily has served as the Chief Economist of Infrastructure Planning, Ministry of Health, and Ministry of Finance. She has been critical to carrying out resource mobilisation endeavours across various Ministries within the Malawi Government. Emily had a leading role in the establishment of Malawi 's first Cancer Centre, the construction of major hospitals across Malawi, and the development of the Ministry of Health 's recent Capital Investment Plan.
Emily is a member of the Economic Association of Malawi (ECAMA). She has a master 's degree in Development Economics and Policy from the University of Manchester and a bachelor 's degree in economics from the University of Malawi.
