Dr. Argyro Kavvada is an expert on atmospheric science and climate dynamics who supports NASA 's Applied Sciences Program in leading projects that extend uses of Earth observation data in support of global policy frameworks, such as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. She also serves as the Executive Secretary of the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) Earth Observations for the Sustainable Development Goals (EO4SDG) Initiative; the NASA Designee to the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS) Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Ad-Hoc Working Group and the US Inter-Agency SDG Data Working Group; and, the GEO representative to the United Nations Working Group on Geospatial Information (WGGI). Dr. Kavvada holds Doctorate and Masters degrees in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science, a Masters degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Georgetown University, and a Bachelors degree in Physics from the Johns Hopkins University.
