Massively available satellites and sensors, combined with machine learning frameworks and cloud computing change the way people make informed decisions around the world and help to evaluate complex events in real-time. Several tools that are available to understand and extract insight from data are widely out of reach amongst development practitioners. This session aims to inform and share state of the art tools for satellite technology application and machine learning to the world’s most pressing challenges. From climate change to population growth to natural resource availability, Earth observation data offers insight into today’s biggest global challenges.
