How do we manage to count everyone in a sustainable and timely manner? Community-based data collection is emerging as an exciting opportunity for local government and civil-society to generate what are, in effect, perpetual censuses. Without explicit and diverse inclusion, governments and development practitioners run the risk of continually excluding the marginalized and disadvantaged populations or serving them with sub-optimal and supply driven services that may not be aligned to addressing their pressing needs. This marketplace will showcase best practices from around the world and make the case for better investments to enable the scaling up of such initiatives.
