Abstract

Seasonal variation is one of the key factors, if not the key factor, that can impact the analysis of times series. In order to derive a meaningful analysis of the data under consideration, this seasonality has to be taken into account and adjusted for. The purpose of this handbook is to take stock of the existing techniques for seasonal adjustment and to propose amendments to the conventionally used methods.
