Abstract

Handbook on quarterly national accounts (2013) includes the update of ESA 2010 and associated transmission programme, the work of task forces to improve and harmonize particular aspects of QNA. The four factors that contributed most to the update are the adoption by EU MSs of quarterly chain-linked volume estimates and quarterly institutional sector accounts, the improved timeliness of QNA, including the widespread adoption of flash estimates, and the amount of practical experience gained over the last fourteen years in compiling QNA.
