Abstract

This handbook provides a step-by-step guidance for the compilation of SUTs and IOTs and an overview of their possible extensions. The SUTs are an integral part of the 2008 SNA forming the central framework for the compilation of a single and coherent estimate of GDP integrating all the components of production, income and expenditure approaches as well as providing key links to other parts of the SNA framework. In their simplest form, the SUTs describe how goods and services are brought into an economy as output or imports and recorded in the Supply Table, and how those same products are used (as intermediate consumption, household final consumption, non-profit institutions serving households, general government final consumption, gross capital formation and exports) and recorded in the Use Table.
