Abstract

This handbook contains practical recommendations for compiling the regional accounts of private households. Even though it is compiled for the European Union, it can serve as source of inspiration also outside that area for understanding how to define a regional territory and to compile transactions related to households at regional level also outside Europe and be used to make interregional comparisons of the main transactions. Specifically, it can be used to analyze differences in the way in which income is generated in different regions and to determine regional levels of households’ disposable income and saving.
