Abstract

This textbook provides simple numerical examples and exercises to facilitate understanding and allow the learner to apply the conceptual framework in a practical way. Its purpose is to: 1. Convey the most important aspects of the conceptual framework underpinning macroeconomic statistics, in particular the national accounts. 2. Give examples of the conceptual framework within the South African context. 3. Provide short activities ensuring the conceptual framework has been understood.
