Towards Building Sustainable Statistical Capacity for the Implementation and Review of the Agenda 2030 and the SDGs

The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) and National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China are jointly organizing a Seminar on Statistical Training from 13 to 15 September 2017 in Beijing, China. The main objective of the seminar titled ‘Towards Building Sustainable Statistical Capacity for the Implementation and Review of the Agenda 2030 and the SDGs’ is to assess the training needs at the country level as well as assess training resources available in different global, regional and country level training institutions to match the rapidly evolving country demands in wake of the Agenda 2030 and the SDGs.
In addition to taking stock of the demand and supply for statistical training across the world, the seminar will provide an opportunity to a few selected countries and global, regional and country level training institutions to deliberate on existing issues and challenges regarding training on official statistics and discuss strategies for the development of clear roadmap for demand-based training through a more harmonized and collaborative approach for training on official statistics across all regions.
