Johnstone Galande
Principal Statistician, Uganda Bureau of Statistics
Johnstone is a Principal Statistician and Head of the Demography and Gender Section at the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS). He provides leadership in the implementation of programmes on demography, gender, disability, and human rights, with a strong commitment to integrating these cross-cutting issues into the production and use of official statistics.
With over 25 years of service at UBOS, Johnstone has extensive experience in demographic and socio-economic analysis. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, a Postgraduate Diploma in Demography and Master's Degree in Demography.
He also represents Uganda at the Inter-Agency Expert Group on Gender Statistics and serves as a member of the East Africa Census Technical Working Group.
