Barbara Cobo Soares
Deputy Coordinator of the Thematic Commission on Social Relations of Gender and Sexuality, Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE)
Barbara Cobo is a Professor at the National School of Statistical Sciences (ENCE) of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and holds a PhD in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IE/UFRJ).
She also serves as a Collaborating Professor at the National School of Public Administration (ENAP) and is a Co-Coordinator of the Thematic Commission on Social Relations of Gender and Sexualities (IBGE). As a dedicated researcher, she is a member of the GENERIS Research Group on Gender, Sexualities, Reproduction, and their Intersectionalities. Her work focuses on the production and analysis of public statistics, with a special interest in social inequalities, gender studies, labor markets, poverty, and social protection.
