Tulimeke Munyika

Biography

Tulimeke Munyika is responsible for managing the National Population Register, Identification and Production in Namibia.

She joined public service in 2007 as a litigation lawyer in the Ministry of Justice straight from her alma mater, the University of Namibia, where she obtained two law degrees. She joined the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration, as it then was, as a Deputy Director providing legal guidance on immigration, refugee management, citizenship and civil registration law. Six years after setting up the Legal Support Service Division, she joined the Department of Civil Registration to primarily spearhead legislative amendments on civil registration and identity management.

She has served as a director and board chairperson in a telecommunications company and currently serves as a board director in the field of student funding.

She has contributed to various publications on civil registration and vital statistics systems as well as social protection.
