Phetsavanh Boutlasy

Biography

Phetsavanh BOUTLASY graduated from the National University of Lao PDR in General Economic in 2003. In 2015 he completed his master degree in Population geography at the Chieng Mai University, Thailand. He joined Lao Statistics Bureau (LSB), Ministry of Planning and Investment in 2004 where he currently holds the position of Deputy Director General of Social Statistics Department.

He has experience in Population and Housing Censuses (PHC), and statistical surveys including Lao Social Indicator Survey (LSIS), Household Expenditure and Consumption Surveys (LECS). He has an important role in data processing methodologies in Lao Statistics Bureau since 2005.

Phetsavanh BOUTLASY has been responsible for the Lao Statistics Bureau’s joint programmes and partnership with UNFPA, UNICEF, ESCAP producing social, poverty, population and vital statistics.
