LynnMarie Sardinha

Biography

LynnMarie Sardinha is Technical Officer on Violence Against Women Data and Research at the World Health Organization, Geneva. She co-leads WHO-UN Women Joint Programme on Violence against Women Data and Measurement including the development of the global, regional and national violence against women prevalence estimates and work on strengthening the survey measurement on forms of violence where gaps remain. LynnMarie has worked on violence against women data and research for over 16 years. As Senior Research Fellow in Domestic Violence and Health at the University of Bristol, UK she has been lead on several research studies focusing on violence against women in low-and middle-income countries using large-scale population-based data, and co-investigator and data analyst on several National Institute of Health Research and Medical Research Council funded research projects on prevention and health sector response to violence against women in India and the UK.

She holds a PhD in Social Policy from the University of Bristol, UK and Masters’ in Economics and Statistics, and in Social Work and Public Health, University of Mumba, India.
