Relationship to international standards
3 (a)Is this classification based on (or linked to) an international standard classification? If yes, please describe.PRODAGRO is a national classification, which is based on the CPA. Compliance exists at 6-digit level for the CPA codes. Compliance with NACE, Rev. 2 can be also achieved through further aggregation of products by economic activities. The PRODAGRO is also linked to the Combined Nomenclature (CN). The annual updating according to the changes in the CN is maintained by the Statistical Office.
3 (b)Is the classification structure identical to the international standard or, if not, how does it differ? (e.g. have additional levels been added to the international standard or have changes been made within the level of the international structure, such as aggregations or additional breakdowns)The classification structure of PRODAGRO is not identical with the international standard (the CPA for example). Starting from 6-digit level of the CPA codes, further breakdown at 10-digits level codes for national purposes is done. Furthermore, a part of the existing in the CPA codes, which are not typical for the agriculture, forestry and fishery in Bulgaria are excluded from PRODAGRO.

Classification uses
4 (a)Please state for which statistical purposes (surveys etc.) this classification is used and if there are users outside of the Statistical Office. Please indicate at which level the classification is used for data collection and for data publishing.The classification is used for statistical surveys supplying data for the elaboration of the satellite economic accounts for agriculture, for the economic and environmental accounting for forestry and for calculation of producer prices and price indices in agriculture.
4 (b)Please give the names of institutions that use the classification for non-statistical purposes (as opposed to statistical purposes in question 4(a)). Also indicate the kind of use (e.g. tax offices, social security, customs, enterprise register, employment services, work permits etc.)PRODAGRO is mainly used for statistical purposes by the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria.

Are these classifications available and useful for the Statistical Office?In the domain of agricultural and fishery statistics the data collection and data dissemination is implemented by the respective EU legislation. In most cases, the breakdown of items is compatible at 6-digit level of PRODAGRO.
