Honorary Doctorate Degree conferred on Director of UNSD

In recognition of Professor Paul Cheung’s work in advancing the global statistical system and in facilitating the development of national statistical systems in the developing countries, the National University of Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar conferred on him an honorary doctorate degree on 30 June 2008.

The National University of Mongolia is the country's oldest and only comprehensive university and a leading centre of sciences, education and culture. It was established in October 1942 in the capital city Ulaanbaatar. After over sixty years of dynamic growth, the University has become a place of sustained innovation, a blend of scholarship and practical realism. It has twelve schools and faculties in Ulaanbaatar and campuses in Zavkhan and Orkhon provinces. Like other comprehensive universities in the world, the National University of Mongolia offers a broad range of Bachelor, Master and PhD programmes. It is distinguished by the number of fundamental and applied advanced research and intellectual products developed and used in industry and business.
