The ESSnet project in the area of Integration of Survey and Administrative data (ESSnet ISAD) finalised in June 2008 represents a first attempt to create a common methodological basis for the application of statistical methodologies for the integration of different sources. It aimed at reviewing and promoting knowledge and application of sound methodologies for the joint use of available information in existing data sources for the production of official statistics by putting together expertises which were isolated thorough the ESS. This document reviews different experiences and presents methodological solutions and directions for future work in the domain of data integration. It aims to raise awareness of the topic and to the transfer of knowledge in the ESS.
