The 2009 revision of the Guide reflects changes in the field of information society measurement since the first edition was released in 2005. The most significant revisions are to information economy classifications, reflecting the considerable changes in that area that occurred between 2006 and 2009, and a substantial update of Annex 5 (Measurement issues for developing economies).
