This paper describes a new index method for price and volume of care for disabled patients (disabled care) in the Netherlands. The old method used at Statistics Netherlands derives a volume index from a value and price index, where the latter is calculated as a weighted average of annual price changes for some types of disabled care. The new index method is part of a revision process, which aims at following the Eurostat guidelines.
