With less than five years remaining to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals—and one year before formal discussions begin on the beyond 2030 agenda—this HLPF side event offers a timely opportunity to take stock of a decade of SDG monitoring and look ahead. Drawing on the Lessons from a Decade of SDG Monitoring report, the event will examine what has worked, where challenges remain, and how lessons from the past ten years can help strengthen SDG monitoring and implementation. Bringing together policymakers, statisticians and development practitioners, the discussion will explore practical solutions, showcase good practices, and consider how more relevant, accessible and actionable data can help accelerate progress through 2030 and inform the next generation of global sustainable development monitoring.
