The seminar will provide delegates with additional information on the report (E/CN.3/2012/10) on the compilation of natural gas statistics which will be discussed during the Statistical Commission. In particular, the seminar will describe the importance of natural gas statistics and the major challenges in the collection and compilation of these statistics and present an overview of the international activities that are being undertaken in this area. The seminar will also present the experience of two countries in the compilation of natural gas statistics.
