The seminar on “Innovations in Population Census Data Collection and Archiving” reflects on the challenges and advantages of using new technologies in data collection and archiving. It will be organized in two sessions and chaired by Rogelio Fernández Castilla, Executive Coordinator on Censuses in UNFPA.
First, Ali bin Mahboob Hassan Alraisi, Director of Social Statistics in the statistical agency of the Sultanate of Oman will share their experience and plans on the use of personal digital assistants (PDAs) in the Population and Housing Census.
The second session will be conducted by Olivier Dupriez, Senior Economist-Statistician in the World Bank and will focus on the data documentation and archiving toolkit.
