The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) will organize a two hour informal briefing session for those delegates who participate in the Statistical Commission for the first time. This session will take place on Monday, 26 February 2007 in Conference Room 5 in the United Nations Secretariat Buidling, from 10.30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (see programme below). The purpose of this informal briefing is not only to inform new members about the functioning of the Commission procedures, but also to offer a first opportunity for networking with other Commission participants.

Delegates who intend to attend this briefing, please contact the UNSD at statistics@un.org. Delegates also need to contact your Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York to make sure you have a valid security pass for 26 February 2007 to the United Nations premises.
