IMF based rate

Definition

These include :
IMF exchange rates : which are annual averages of exchange rates communicated to IMF and published in International Financial Statistics. This publication includes three types of rates : (a) market rates; (b) official rates; and (c) principal rates.
UN operational rates : When no information is available from International Financial Statistics or the IMF economic information system, the Statistics Division has used United Nations operational rates or other available information.

It is acknowledged that this glossary uses descriptions of the OECD glossary of statistical terms, the Glossary of the System of National Accounts 1993 and the UN classifications registry.
