The Statistics Division's National Accounts Section

• Collects and estimates national accounts statistics from countries and publishes them in the National Accounts Yearbook.
  
  
• Maintains the updating of the System of National Accounts 1993. The 1993 SNA on the web incorporates updates as soon as they are approved.
  
  
• Serves as the secretariat of the Inter-Secretariat Working Group on National Accounts (ISWGNA) comprising United Nations Statistics Division, International Monetary Fund, World Bank, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, Statistical Office of the European Communities and the United Nations regional commissions. ISWGNA coordinates implementation of the 1993 System of National Accounts and its updating when conditions require it.
  
  
• Develops handbooks and training materials on SNA and provides technical assistance to developing countries on implementation of the 1993 SNA.
