Glossary of the 1993 SNA - Definition of Term

TermIllegal production
DefinitionIllegal production is the production of goods or services whose sale, distribution or possession is forbidden by law, and production activities which are usually legal but which become illegal when carried out by unauthorised producers; the scope of illegal production varies depending on the laws in place in individual countries (e.g. prostitution is legal in some countries but illegal in others).
