- Independent survey
- To examine how women participate
in economic life through an in-depth analysis of the
different aspects of women's work
- To examine how socio-cultural norms and practices
constrain total participation of women in economic
life
- To quantify and describe in detail the different
tasks done by women in order to better understand
their nature and conditions
- To determine which factors influence women's contribution
to development and, inversely, the effect of this
contribution on demographic, economic and socio-cultural
factors

end times of main activity recorded; total time spent
in hours and minutes recorded

4-digit classification: 9 major groups;
36 2-digit groups
TIME SAMPLE
Covers
whole year to account for seasonal variations in women's
economic activity; designated days were assigned so
that each day of the week is uniformly allocated to
total number of sample diaries
