Technical note |
These series measure the trend of long-term interest rates. They usually comprise the yield to maturity (YM) or the current yield (CY) of a single issue of government or quasi-government bonds whose ownership is widely distributed and with a final maturity of not less than 10 years.
Current yields based on irredeemable or perpetual government bonds (which carry no obligation of repayment at a fixed date but which usually are redeemable at the option of the government) are designated as YP. |
