Technical Cooperation

The main channels through which the Environmental-Economic Accounting Section provides technical cooperation to countries are international workshops and country projects. These activities are supported by training material and practical guidance documents such as, for example, handbooks on specific resources accounts.

With the adoption of the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting for Water as an interim international statistical standard by the United Nations Statistical Commission and the recommendation of advancing its implementation in countries, UNSD has been focusing its activities on water statistics and accounts, working in close collaboration with other international agencies and users' groups.
