Technical cooperation is one of the core functions of the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), which includes coordinating international programmes and activities and assisting Member States, at their request, to improve statistical services through advice and training. Priorities for technical cooperation are identified through a series of global assessments. UNSD has selected water and energy as the current priority areas related to the Environmental-Economic Accounts. Particularly with the adoption of the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting for Water as an interim international statistical standard by the United Nations Statistical Commission, UNSD has been working in close collaboration with national and international partners for advancing its implementation in national statistical systems. UNSD provides support to national statistical agencies for developing water statistics and accounts through an inter-regional advisor. Please contact us for more information on these services. |
