About this global assessment
A report on the results of the Global Assessment of Environment Statistics and Environmental-Economic Accounting was prepared for the 38th session of the United Nations Statistical Commission.
Main objectives of the Global Assessment of Environment Statistics and Environmental-Economic Accounting:
To assess the current status of national implementation of Environment Statistics and Environmental-Economic Accounting Progammes;
To identify priorities and future plans in these programmes; and
To assess the compliance of countries implementation of environmental-economic accounting with the Handbook on National Accounts: Integrated Environmental and Economic Accounting-2003 (SEEA-2003) in view of the Statistical Commission recommendation of elevating the SEEA-2003 to the level of a statistical standard by 2010.
