The Global Assessment of Water Statistics and Accounts has been developed by UNSD under the auspices of the UN Committee of Experts on Environmental-Economic Accounting (UNCEEA).

To obtain an in-depth understanding of country practices in the compilation of water statistics and accounts;

To assess compliance with the SEEAW;

To contribute to the development of the International Recommendations of Water Statistics; and

To assist with the development of targeted technical cooperation activities in these areas.
