The Global Assessment of Energy Accounts has been developed by UNSD under the auspices of the UN Committee of Experts on Environmental-Economic Accounting (UNCEEA). |

| The main objectives are: |
|
| To obtain an in-depth understanding of country practices in the compilation of energy accounts;
|
|
| To contribute to the development of the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting for Energy (SEEA-E); and |
|
| To assist with the development of targeted technical cooperation activities in this area. |
| |
The results of the assessment will be used by various stakeholders including UNSD and the United Nations Committee of Experts on Environmental-Economic Accounting. The deadline for responding is 12 May 2008. |
