About the Environmental-Economic Accounting Section

Advancement and standardization of statistical methods, classifications and definitions, particularly through publications and development of the SEEA and related international standards, recommendations, and best practice manuals.

Collaboration with other international organizations, governments, NGO's, academia and city groups, and in particular the London Group on Environmental Accounting and the UN Committee of Experts on Environmental-Economic Accounting, for which UNSD serves as the Secretariat.

Assistance to Member States with implementing internationally-agreed environmental-economic accounting concepts and methodologies, including through organizing meetings and workshops, providing advice to national statistical offices, preparing training materials, and helping to disseminate information on current practices, such as via the library of publications on environmental-economic accounting.
