Population density and urbanization
Collection and dissemination of data from the Demographic Yearbook
The United Nations Statistics Division collects data on population density and urbanization through the Demographic Yearbook data collection system.
 
The three questionnaires used are:

Seven tables on, among others, population of major civil divisions, population of national capital city and cities of 100 000 or more inhabitants are collected as part of this process. These tables are then disseminated through the Demographic Yearbook on a regular basis. Print copies of the Demographic Yearbook can be purchased through the UN Publications Order Form.
