This service is primarily designed (used) to establish voice communications, but may serve other applications such as text communication (facsimile or teletex) and may be provided on a toll or flat rate basis. This service provides the customer with access to the supplier's and connecting carrier's entire telephone network or, in some instances, to a limited number of exchange areas (WATS service).
