  • 079 - Providing unpaid caregiving services to household members n.e.c.

Explanatory note

Includes:
- All activities in relation to unpaid services for the care of children and adults of one’s household including care provided to members of the household who are sick or disabled
- Travel in relation to the activities in this major division
Note: For purposes of child-care activities, countries will have to specify an upper age limit. One criterion for selecting such a limit is a legally specified age under which a child cannot be left alone without adult supervision. If no such law exists in a country, then the age limit would be the age accepted by convention or practice when children can be left alone without constant care and supervision.
Note: Unpaid caregiving services for own household are "non-SNA" work activities.
Note: Receiving caregiving services is classified under 15141 and 15142.

Exclusion: Unpaid caregiving services performed for other households is classified under major division 08
