Explanatory note This class includes manufacture of wine from grapes not grown by the same unit, including sparkling and flavoured wines. Manufacture of fortified wine such as sherry and marsala is included. Manufacture of other fermented but not distilled alcoholic beverages such as perry, cider, mead or sake. Exclusions: Growing of grapes and manufacture of wine at the same location is classified in class 0113 (Growing of fruit, nuts, beverage and spice crops). Brewing of malt liquors is classified in class 1553. Merely bottling and labelling wines is classified in class 5122 (Wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco), if performed as a part of buying and selling at wholesale, and in class 7495 (Packaging activities), if performed on a fee or contract basis.
