General information

1 (b)In which language(s) is the classification available?NKD has no deviations from the NACE Rev.1.
NKD is the classification of economic activities corresponding to NACE Rev. 1 at National level. Though more disaggregated than NACE Rev.1. but is totally in line with it and can thus be regarded as its National counterpart.

intermediate level: 31 sub-sections identified by two-character alphabetical codes, identical with NACE Rev.1; Level 2: 60 divisions identified by two-digit numerical codes, identical with NACE Rev.1;
Level 3: 222 groups identified by three-digit numerical codes, identical with NACE Rev.1;
Level 4: 503 classes identified by four-digit numerical codes, identical with NACE Rev.1;
Level 5: 570 sub-classes identified by five-digit numerical codes, additional national breakdown

3 (d)At what level of the international standard can data be reported for international comparison? (Please provide examples of programmes / indicators if reporting takes place at different levels of the classification.)NKD first official adoption has been started from1.1.1995 (Law on NKD, Official Gazette No 98/94, following Decisions on NKD: Official Gazette No 3/97 & 7/97)
Implementation in industrial statistical surveys started in1995 but in entirety from1997. The implementation was based on statistical acts Annual Programmes of statistical surveys for the years 1995, 1996 & 1997 as well as on official acts Law on NKD and Decisinos on NKD.
3 (e)If no links to international classifications exist or no international standard is used, please state if there are plans to use international norms in the future.Current new version of NKD 2002 as revised version of first version of NKD was enter into force on 01.01.2003 due to new EU version of NACE Rev.1.1. It will be aplicable in all statistical surveys (and publications) from 1.1.2004.
Next NKD 2002 revision is foreseen for 01.01.2007 due to revision of NACE Rev.1.1
 
Classification uses

Please indicate at which level the classification is used for data collection and for data publishing.Inside CBS: Business Registers; National Accounts; Production Statistics surveys; Short-term statistics surveys; other business statistics surveys; labour statistics surveys; other social statistics surveys; agricultural statistics surveys (enterprises)
Outside CBS: registration of all business entities due to administrative purpose (it is the precondition for any new entity to be able to open bank account )
4 (b)Please give the names of institutions that use the classification for non-statistical purposes (as opposed to statistical purposes in question 4(a)). Also indicate the kind of use (e.g. tax offices, social security, customs, enterprise register, employment services, work permits etc.)Statistical data are collected according to the NKD at the most detailed level in all business statistics surveys, production surveys, industrial short-terms surveys, and all statistical surveys on enterprices.
Starting with 2004 statistical data will be collected according to the new NKD 2002

Are these classifications available and useful for the Statistical Office?Statistical data are published according to the NKD at the most detailed level (in specific subject metter comprehesive publication), but for general publications (yearbook, monthly reports, first release, etc) on the 2-digits level (NKD devisions)

5 (e)Please describe the link of the former classification to international classifications- structure of NKD based on EU classification NACE Rev.1 sometimes cause the problems in regard with different structure and organization of national economy as well as understanding of real nature and purpose of statistical classifications in general were the main problems that have occurred during the past period of use of the NKD.

tax offices, financial agency, social security, craft register etc.
