(Please provide labels, such as “Division”, “Class”) How many categories exist at each level?||The National Classification of Activities - NKD Rev.2 has four hierarchical levels: Section, Division, Group, Class. |
The National Classification of Activities -NKD Rev.2 contains 21 Sections, 88 Divisions, 272 Groups and 615 Classes.
|2 (b)||Please provide examples of the coding system used at each level.||The coding system of each level of NKD Rev.2 is as follows:|
1.a first level (Sections) consisting of headings identified by two - characters alphabetical (latinic/cyrillic) code, (A/A – U/P),
2.a second level (Divisions) consisting of headings identified by a two-digit numerical code (01-99),
3.a third level (Groups) consisting of headings identified by a three-digit numerical code (01.1-99.0),
4.a fourth level (Classes) consisting of headings identified by a four-digit numerical code (01.11-99.00).

If yes, please describe.||The National Classification of Activities - NKD Rev.2 is based on the European Classification of Activities NACE Rev.2 and in its content and structure is completely harmonized with the European Classification of Activities NACE Rev.2|

(e.g. have additional levels been added to the international standard or have changes been made within the level of the international structure, such as aggregations or additional breakdowns)||The structure of the National Classification of Activities - NKD Rev.2 is completely identical to the European Classification of Activities NACE Rev.2 (as established in the NACE Regulation (EC) No.1893/2006 of European Parliament and Council of 20 December 2006 establishing the statistical classification of economic activities NACE Revision 2 and amending Council Regulation (EEC) No 3037/90 as well as certain EC Regulations on specific statistical domains OJ L/363)|

|4 (a)||Please state for which statistical purposes (surveys etc.) this classification is used and if there are users outside of the Statistical Office. Please indicate at which level the classification is used for data collection and for data publishing.||The National Classification of Activities - NKD Rev.2 is a classification of economic activities in the Republic of Macedonia used for collecting, processing and publishing of statistical data, as well as for analysis and giving directions of the social and economic development and its structural changes.|
(Inside SSO: Statistical Business Register; National Accounts; Production Statistics surveys; Short-term statistics surveys; other business statistics surveys; labour statistics surveys; other social statistics surveys; agricultural statistics surveys (enterprises).
Also, outside SSO, the Classification is used for determining the business entities (legal and natural persons) according to the main activity they are performing (Administrative Business Register), as well as for other non-statistical purposes (registration of all business entities due to administrative purpose).
In all business statistics surveys, production surveys, industrial short-terms surveys, and all statistical surveys on enterprises, statistical data are collected at the most detailed level (at the class level), and data are published at section level (alphabetical code) or division level (on the 2-digits level).
|4 (b)||Please give the names of institutions that use the classification for non-statistical purposes (as opposed to statistical purposes in question 4(a)). Also indicate the kind of use (e.g. tax offices, social security, customs, enterprise register, employment services, work permits etc.)||The National Classification of Activities - NKD Rev.2 as a classification of economic activities is used in all institutions in the Republic of Macedonia such as: The Central Register of Republic of Macedonia (Trade register and register of other legal persons and the Register of annual accounts), the Public Revenue Office, the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, Central Bank, Customs……..|

|Implementation / revision status|
|5 (a)||Please state the date of the official adoption of the classification. If not yet adopted, please indicate the current state (e.g. in development, sent for approval, in printing, ready to be distributed etc.)||The National Classification of Activities - NKD Rev.2 is brought as a national standard based on the decision of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia of 18 November 2008 (Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia, No. 147/08).|
The Law on One Stop Shop System and maintaining the Trade Register and Register on Other Legal Persons (Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia, No.84/05) is the legal basis for using the Classification for administrative objectives (for determining the business subjects according to the main activity they are performing).
|5 (b)||Please state the date of use of the classification for individual statistical programmes.||The National Classification of Activities - NKD Rev.2 as a national standard is being implemented since 1 January, 2009 (in Administrative and Statistical Business Register).|

|5 (c)||Are there existing plans for revision or update of the current classification?||SSO constantly follows all activities in Eurostat about revision or updating of the NACE Rev.2, but for the present there are no plans for revision or update of NKD Rev.2 (nationally).|

(for national purposes subclasses (five-digit code) as additional level have been added)).|

The National Classification of Activities - NKD Rev.1 contains 17 Sections, 31 Subsection, 62 Divisions, 223 Groups 513 Classes and 637 Subclasses.
