Whenever a Census is undertaken, questions about the completeness and accuracy of the Census count invariably arise. In such a large and complex exercise, it is inevitable that some people will be missed (undercount) and some will be included more than once (overcount).

This publication presents estimates of net undercount for the 2006 Census in Australia, as well as information on how the estimates were calculated.
