Census mapping related issues in countries with no administrative records and no reliable sampling...
This paper by Roberto Bianchini and Valerio Baiocchi (University of Rome "La Sapienza") aims at i) underlining the importance of delineating accurately enumeration areas boundaries to improve the coverage rate, especially in developing and transition countries with poor experience in census taking and/or characterized by rapid changes in the urban structure and population distribution; ii) describing the preliminary results of a first investigation to estimate amounts of population at small area level by using high-resolution remote sensing data in stereo mode.
Paper presented at the Satellite Meeting on Innovative Methodologies for Censuses in the New Millennium of the 56th Session of the ISI, Lisboa, 31 August - 2 September 2007.
