Population and Housing Census in Ethiopia


The papers present the experience from the 1994 census in Ethiopia and outlines the plans and current activities for the 2007 census. They discuss the practicality of the recommended core topics, tabulations, census management and other issues (based on the UN publication “Principles and Recommendations for Population and Housing Censuses, Revision 2”) in the context of Ethiopia.

The paper was prepared in the context of the “United Nations Workshop on the 2010 World Programme on Population and Housing Censuses, Maputo, Mozambique, 30 October – 2 November 2006”.
