List of series

This page displays all the series of the CDB in alphabetical order. The list of can be filtered using the search mechanism. Two types of searches are available: "By any word" (OR type search) returns all series which contain 1) AT LEAST one of the search arguments in its name and "By all words" (AND type search), which returns those series that contain ALL of the search arguments in its name. For example a search "by any word" for "exports sitc" finds 28 series, while a search "by all words" for the same string finds only two series. The number of the series found is shown after a search.
To restore the full list of all series, clear the search arguments box and press the search button -- or click on the "Series notes" link in the left-hand side navigational menu.

The following navigational links are available:

  • Click on the series name to see additional information on the corresponding series, including links to the source of the series, the classifications (if any) used by the series and the topics and the definitions associated with the series;
  • Click on the "List country" link next to a series to see the list of countries and areas for which the series has data. The list includes links to the data themselves.
  • The "Printer friendly list of all series by sources" leads the same list of series, but alphabetized by sources and then by name within the source. The sources' names are given too.

1) The search mechanism work on an index of all the words of the short series name, all the words of the full series name (which may contain additional keywords) and all the definitions. If the search for the words as typed fails to return any results (possibly because of misspelling), a soundex search is automatically activated. The SOUNDEX technology groups together "similarly sounding" words. On the plus side, the user does not have worry about the correct spelling. Some of the associations however may be quite surprising.
