The Statistics Division prepares general statistical compilations in print including the Statistical Yearbook, Monthly Bulletin of Statistics, and statistical compilations in special fields including demographic and population statistics, international merchandise trade, national accounts, industrial commodities production, energy, social statistics and indicators, gender statistics and human settlements.

The division also prepares a wide variety of technical studies on international statistical standards, recommendations and special studies approved by the Statistical Commission. Many publications and databases are available in electronic formats including CD-ROMs, diskettes and on Internet. United Nations publications on statistical standards and methods are usually available in English, French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish.

United Nations sales publications are identified by sales numbers and series numbers. Statistical publications in current use are given here. Original and language editions out-of-print are indicated by an asterisk (*). Most out-of-print publications in English are available in microfiche from the United Nations Publications. Single copies of publications currently in print in Arabic, Chinese and Russian are available at no charge to Governments and research institutions in statistics from the Director of the Statistics Division in New York, as long as stock is available.
